Mason & AI ToolsSaving Conversations

Saving Conversations as Context

When you have a good conversation with Mason, where you worked out pricing rules, figured out rates for a tricky job, or made decisions about how to handle specific scenarios, you can save it to the AI Context Catalog. That way, Mason remembers what you discussed and uses it on future jobs.

Required role: Site Admin

How It Works

  1. Have a conversation with Mason (either in the live chat or find one in conversation history).
  2. Click Save as Context in the chat header.
  3. Mason reads through the conversation and pulls out the key facts: rates, rules, decisions, anything that would be useful for pricing similar jobs later.
  4. A dialog opens with:
    • Title: a short label Mason generated (you can edit it)
    • Context: the summarized content (you can edit this too)
    • Job type badges: pre-selected based on the job types involved in the conversation
    • Equipment type badges: pre-selected if the conversation was about a specific piece of equipment
  5. Toggle associations on or off. Add more if you want.
  6. Click Save to Catalog.

The new entry shows up in Settings → AI Context and gets auto-injected into future pricing for those job types.

Where You’ll Find the Button

The Save as Context button appears in 3 places:

  • Active Mason chat: in the chat panel header, when you have messages in the current conversation
  • Conversation history transcript: when viewing a past conversation, in the transcript header
  • Equipment AI chat: in the thread header, when viewing a conversation about a piece of equipment

Suggested Associations

Mason picks the associations for you based on what the conversation was about:

  • Pricing conversations: the job type(s) of the job you were pricing get pre-selected
  • Equipment conversations: the equipment type gets pre-selected

You can always change these. Remove ones that don’t fit, add ones that do. The badges work as toggles: click to select, click again to remove.

Tips

  • Edit the summary before saving. Mason does a good job pulling out the key facts, but you know your business better. Add anything it missed.
  • Keep context entries focused. One topic per entry is easier to manage than a long entry covering everything.
  • If you’ve already got a context entry for a job type and this conversation just refines it, consider editing the existing entry instead of creating a new one. You can find it in Settings → AI Context.
